Been on a bit of a rollercoaster ride these last few weeks.

I was told on the 13th October, that they had discovered a problem with my heart, while I was being treated for something akin to Shingles.

The upshot, was that I was booked in for open heart surgery on the 26th of October, at 08.00.

Two wonderful surgeons Örjan Wesslén and Abel August T Van Vlasselaer, calmly talked me through the plan of action for my dodgy pump and performed a triple bypass procedure, now I have 3 "Go Faster" stripes on my reconditioned ticker...

I spent some hours in intensive care, before being transferred to the Thoracic ward 12.1, in the superb Thoracic Surgery and Anesthesia department 50 D, of the magnificent Akademiska Sjükhuset Uppsala.

Truly magnificent health care provision, delivered by amazing teams of Surgeons, Doctors, Nurses and care providers.

I had watched Everton dismantle Crystal Palace 3 - 0 at home during the weekend prior to my admission into hospital, which was ideal preparation for my op..

Then after my operation I watched Everton earn a solid point in the 0 - 0 draw away to Fulham, next to my hospital bed, on my telephone on viaplay.

So fantastic that I can watch every minute of every game home and away on Viaplay here in Sweden.

So, now on to Leicester City at home and Bournemouth away.

League standings before playing Leicester snd Bournemouth

6 points would be ideal from these two games before going into the World Cup break.

I would be happy with 4 points and a continuation of the marked improvement we are witnessing under Frank Lampard.

So onward and upward with my "Go Faster" stripes on my heart and COYB and UTFT.
